Why we seeing the Northern light so often lately

An aurora, also commonly known as the Northern lights or southern lights, is a natural lights display in earth's sky. The lights are caused by the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field and charged particles from the sun's atmosphere that enter the earth's atmosphere.

On Thursday night ( 10 October, 2024 ) the stunning colors of  the northern lights were visible once again even to the naked eye across most of the US.

Seeing northern light requires clear skies and a bit of luck. Your chance of catching them get better the further north you go. Experts say the northern lights, or Aurora Borealis, are more visible right now due to the sun being at astronomers called the " maximum " of its 11 year solar cycle.
